Creative Direction for Digital Business Group

Role: Product Designer

Overview

Next Ventures is a group of digital companies focused on digital data privacy, gaming, and commerce.

I was brought on to define the product design direction and establish the brand's visual identity. Working closely with the core product team, I led the creation of the brand’s visual design voice, ensuring it reflected the product's mission and values. I was responsible for building the brand’s design language from scratch, from design research to final brand assets and guidelines.

My work included creating a compelling website that effectively communicated the product's message. I was involved in every stage of the design process, from presenting initial concepts and wireframes to delivering finalized design assets for development. Additionally, I managed collaboration with freelance contractors, coordinated the design process, and worked with the Front-End team to test and finalize the designs.

Responsibilities

• Developing a unique brand design style with the core product team;
• Presenting perspectives and ideas for enhancement to the product team;
• Overseeing design processes and coordinating between the product team, Front-End Dev, and freelance contractors;
• Writing tasks, providing feedback, and ensuring design quality at every stage;
• Creating the website from conceptualization to final delivery of design assets.

Branding and Visual Design

The logo features a modified Futura Extra Condensed font for its bold, blocky appearance, giving the brand a confident and strong look. The color scheme includes shades of blue and warmer purple, with vibrant pink and aquamarine accents to add energy and optimism.

Website Design

My work involved designing a website that clearly communicates the brand's mission and values. From early concepts to final production, I led the design process, ensuring alignment with the brand’s vision, and collaborated with the Front-End team to refine and finalize the designs.

Illustration

I worked with freelance 2D illustrators to create custom graphics for the website and social media. This included developing an illustration style, gathering ideas, and overseeing their execution. I managed contractors’ work, drafted tasks, and provided feedback throughout the process.

Result

Through my contributions, Next Ventures established a distinct and recognizable brand design that reflects its vision. This role allowed me to manage a full product design cycle, from branding to project management, ensuring smooth collaboration between the product team, developers, and contractors. After completing the product design work, I continued working with Next Ventures on various design materials for their partner companies.
